Data Engineer

About the role:

We are seeking a savvy Data Engineer! You’ll have the opportunity to join the growing AI team and develop our 3D modelling AI app.

 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and efficient data pipelines and ETL processes;
  • Collaborating with data scientists and analysts to understand data requirements and implement appropriate solutions;
  • Building and optimizing data storage and retrieval systems, including databases, data lakes, and data warehouses;
  • Ensuring data quality and consistency by implementing data validation and cleansing processes;
  • Monitoring and troubleshooting data pipelines to ensure their smooth and reliable operation;
  • Implementing and maintaining data security and privacy measures to protect sensitive information;
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate data from various sources and systems;
  • Staying up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in data engineering and proposing innovative solutions to improve data infrastructure and processes.

We expect you to have:

  • Previous experience as a data engineer or in a similar role;
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python (a plus if you know Java);
  • Experience with data processing frameworks and tools (e.g., Apache Spark, Hadoop, or Flink);
  • Proficiency in SQL and database technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, or NoSQL databases);
  • Familiarity with data integration and ETL tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, Informatica, or Talend);
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms and services for data engineering (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud);
  • Understanding of distributed systems and parallel computing concepts;
  • Experience with data modelling and schema design;
  • Solid understanding of data governance, data security, and privacy best practices;
  • Great numerical and analytical skills;
  • Good English and communication skills.

Nice to have:

  • Degree in Computer Science, IT, or a similar field;
  • Experience with SSIS, SSRS, SSAS;
  • Experience in powering BI Configuration, changing and troubleshooting, including PowerBI gateway.
